Graduate Medical Education Resources
The Midwestern University Library system provides 24-hour access to the libraries and learning resources. Professional librarian assistance is available to all faculty members and trainees. In total, the library collections include 45,993 print volumes, 7,098 journal subscriptions (of which 98% are electronic), and 104 electronic databases.
Midwestern University GME Consortium offers a platform for distance education through an electronic forum, Canvas based educational courses and faculty development sessions.
Our State-of-the-Art Clinical Skills Simulation Centers on both campuses (Arizona | Illinois) offer high-fidelity mannequins, standardized patients, and task trainers in simulated inpatient and outpatient environments. The centers include clinic-based examination rooms with equipment and supplies similar to that in an outpatient clinical setting, as well as lab rooms designed to mimic hospital-based and critical-care environments (Intensive Care Unit, Emergency/Trauma Room, Hospital Floor, Pediatric Floor, and Operating Room). The centers also contain combination conference and briefing rooms, professional testing centers to accommodate hundreds of trainees for either paper or electronic exams, offer quiet rooms for testing, and provide a staff to supervise testing and conserve faculty resources.

The AMA GME Competency Education Program is a series of online educational modules designed to complement teachings in residency and fellowship programs. Its robust library of coursework helps residents and their institutions meet core competency requirements. Course curricula are customizable, allowing administrators to tailor them for individual program year and program needs—all while tracking the progress of residents.
