Winter Commencement Ceremony Celebrates College of Pharmacy Graduates
Pharmacy students earn their doctoral degree, mark career milestone

The College of Pharmacy, Downers Grove (CPDG) bestowed the degree Doctor of Pharmacy upon 64 graduates on February 23, 2024. The new alumni will begin their careers in the field of pharmacy and embark on their career journey, as they mark the end of their student days at Midwestern University’s Downers Grove Campus.
Kathleen H. Goeppinger, Ph.D., Midwestern University President and Chief Executive Officer, reflected on the plethora of unique contributions from the Class of 2024, such as being instrumental in the development of the Infectious Disease Club and the Pharmacy Fall Festival. Dr. Goeppinger congratulated the class for their hard work and accomplishments. “Today they get called doctor for the first time, and I think that is a very important moment that all of us should celebrate,” she said.
Sun Hee Park, Pharm.D., a graduate of the Doctor of Pharmacy program (CPDG ’24), was the student speaker. Dr. Park shared moments of the journey and words of wisdom for the Class of 2024. “We came to Midwestern to become pharmacists who play a crucial role in healthcare, ensuring patient safety and becoming a medical expert who contributes to patient-centric healthcare. You are here today because of your sustained commitment and your perseverance has finally paid off. As pharmacists, I encourage you to work with a One Health mindset to collaborate with physicians, nurses, dentists, psychologists, and many more to provide comprehensive interdisciplinary care because caring for patients is still the heart and soul in the art of medicine.”
The graduates join an increasing number of Midwestern University alumni who have gone on to a variety of healthcare careers including clinics, hospitals, pharmacies, healthcare facilities, private practices, and laboratories.
