Midwestern University would like to congratulate Eve Hoover, D.M.Sc., PA-C, DFAAPA (CHS-Glendale), Associate Professor, Physician Assistant Program, for being named the 2023 Physician Assistant of the Year by the Arizona State Association of Physician Assistants (ASAPA).

Dr. Hoover was nominated for the annual award by a member of the Arizona PA community on the strength of her 24 years as a physician assistant, as well as her dedication to PA education, scholarly work, and service commitments on a national, state, and program level. Her commitment to student well-being and medical dental integration received special mention.

The award was announced at the 48th Annual ASAPA Spring CME Conference, held March 7th and 8th at Venue 8600 in Scottsdale, AZ.

“From the beginning of my journey to become a PA 30 years ago to today, the most impactful lesson I’ve learned is how valuable mentors are to succeeding, how rewarding it is to support others in finding their own paths to success, and the spark and energy gained from driving the PA profession forward through preceptorship and teaching,” says Dr. Hoover. “I am profoundly grateful for every patient who has trusted not only my knowledge but me as a person. I thank every member of the healthcare team and community in both clinical and academic settings who has helped expand my foundational medical knowledge, brought joy into the work that I do, and provided confident clarity for me that so many years ago, I selected the best profession. I am beyond honored and humbled to have been nominated and selected for this distinction, and endlessly proud to be a part of the PA profession.”
