Application Deadline Approaching for Free Eight-Day Health Careers Institute
The HCI offers Arizona high schoolers opportunities to expand their healthcare knowledge and have fun, hands-on experiences with MWU faculty experts at the University’s state-of-the-art Glendale Campus.

The summer event is provided free of charge due to the generous contribution of the BHHS Legacy Foundation, and for the first time, thanks to a new scholarship grant from the H.S. Lopez Family Foundation, Midwestern will offset housing, meals, transportation, and related costs for six select high schoolers from rural Arizona communities.
Applications for the free eight-day Health Careers Institute for High School Students, which takes place from June 20th to June 29th at Midwestern University's Glendale Campus at 59th Avenue and Utopia Road, are due on April 1st.
The Health Careers Institute is a free, interactive event sponsored by a generous grant from the BHHS Legacy Foundation and is open to 64 high school students each year. Current sophomores, juniors, and seniors are eligible. An additional grant provided by the H.S. Lopez Family Foundation will support six exceptional high school students from rural Arizona and provide their housing, meals, transportation, and related costs (as well as for a family member if the student is under 18 years old) to attend the event.
Each day from 9:00am to 4:00pm, Midwestern faculty and advanced students will teach workshops in anatomy and introductory clinical skills for various health professions, with a special focus on how to prepare for college and what to expect from each profession. Guest lectures for this exciting summer program will include current medical topics such as Drug Addiction, Healthcare Volunteer Opportunities, and more. Applicants must submit an application including short essays and a current transcript.
