• OT Students Shoot for Understanding with Wheelchair Basketball Tournament

  Midwestern University’s Student Occupational Therapy Association (SOTA) coordinated the successful return of the Wheelchair Basketball Tournament on the Downers Grove Campus. This year marked the first tip-off of the tournament since 2019 and provides Occupational Therapy (OT) students and other Midwestern University students with valuable insight into the lives of future clients. All proceeds from the event benefit Synergy Adaptive Athletics, a local nonprofit organization that provides recreational sports opportunities for individuals with physical disabilities in DuPage County.

• CCOM Students Go Bald to Support Cancer Research

  Midwestern University students, faculty members, and community residents raised more than $32,000 to battle childhood cancer as part of the annual “St. Baldrick’s Shave for a Change” fundraiser held at Ballydoyle Irish Pub in Downers Grove in March. Students from Midwestern’s Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine (CCOM) organized the event where 40 people had their heads shaved in solidarity with children who are experiencing the effects of cancer treatments.

• Midwestern University Celebrates College of Pharmacy Graduates

  Students from the College of Pharmacy, Downers Grove celebrated the beginning of their professional careers with a commencement ceremony on Thursday, March 2, 2023. A total of 108 students received a Doctor of Pharmacy degree (Pharm.D.) and will begin their professional pharmacy careers or participate in postgraduate residency programs.
