On August 18, the Midwestern University Therapy Institute held an open house for faculty, staff, and students on campus. Representatives from the occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech-language pathology, behavioral health, and vision rehabilitation services were in attendance. More than 70 people came through to learn more about the various services available to them at the Midwestern University Therapy Institute.
Additionally, more than 50 people signed up for a tour of the CAREN (computer assisted rehabilitation environment) machine. This is an immersive virtual reality environment that provides advanced clinical evaluation, analysis, and rehabilitation for a variety of neuro-physical disorders. These presentations were given by Bill Denton, Biomedical Engineer, and showcased the many ways this machine assists Midwestern University Therapy Institute providers and helps them provide cutting-edge treatment to better serve patient needs.
