What are the primary functions of the Development & Alumni Relations Office?
Answer: The primary functions of the Office of Development & Alumni Relations is to create opportunities for students, alumni, faculty and staff to connect or reconnect with MWU through special events and programming as well as develop opportunities to attract philanthropic support to advance the mission and vision of the University.
How do I, or someone I know, go about making a gift to support MWU?
Answer: Making a gift to support MWU is easy. There are a variety of ways in which you can support MWU - an outright gift of cash, an estate gift, establishing a scholarship fund, or identifying others who might want to support MWU's mission and vision, are all ways in which you can make a difference. We invite you to contact the Office of Development & Alumni Relations (DG) at x6123 or Office of University Relations (AZ) at x3286 to learn how easy and rewarding it is to support YOUR University.
When I walk around campus, I notice there are benches, tables and other items with plaques. How do you get a something with your name on a plaque?
Answer: Both the Downers Grove and Glendale campuses have opportunities like the one you described. Our university takes a lot of pride in the aesthetics of the campus. A program was developed to enhance the beauty of each campus and provide an opportunity for gifts to be made. Benches, tables, and trees are affordable and there are several payment options. In addition, to cash, check and credit card payments, payroll deduction is available to faculty and staff.
What is the Apollo Mentoring Program and how do I sign up?Answer: The Apollo Mentoring Program is a service available to all MWU students that is provided by the Office of Development & Alumni Relations. It is a student/Alumni E-mail based relationship that may provide networking opportunities for a variety of specialties and geographic locations. You can join the Apollo Mentoring Program by visiting www.midwestern.edu/alumni/ clicking on "Apollo Mentoring Program" located on the left side of the page, and submitting an online application.
What's the procedure for alumni when visiting campus?
Answer: Each alum, from all graduation years and both campuses, has been issued a plastic identification card to use when entering campus. If an alum loses their card, they are to contact our office to receive a replacement.
How does an alum change his/her mailing address?
Answer: The alum can visit www.midwestern.edu/alumni and click on the Change Address button on the left side of the screen.
