Dr. O'Hagan received her B.A. in Biology from the College of the Holy Cross (Worcester, MA) in 1983, and the Ph.D. in Physiology & Neurobiology from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey (New Brunswick, NJ) in 1990. Dr O'Hagan completed postdoctoral training in neural control of the circulation at the Dept of Anesthesiology, VA Medical Center (Milwaukee, WI) in 1993. Dr O'Hagan began her career in the Dept of Physiology in the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine (CCOM) at the rank of Assistant Professor in 1993, was granted tenure with promotion to Associate Professor in 1997, and promoted to the rank of Professor in 2004. From 2007-2021, Dr O'Hagan served as Chair, Dept of Physiology-Downers Grove campus. In 2021, Dr O'Hagan received an administrative appointment as Associate Dean, Academic Affairs for CCOM with a continuing faculty appointment in the Dept of Physiology.
In July of 2018, the College of Graduate Studies was founded, and the primary appointments of the medical school basic science faculty and the Biomedical Sciences faculty from the Arizona and Ilinois campuses were transferred to this new college. Physiology faculty in the College of Graduate Studies continue to provide instruction to our professional degree students studying osteopathic medicine, dental medicine, physical therapy, physician assistant studies, pharmacy and optometry, in addition to providing instruction to our masters degree graduate students in the Biomedical Sciences Program.

The Department of Physiology provides instruction to first or second year students in the Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine, Pharmacy, Health Sciences, Optometry and Dental Medicine. My primary areas of instruction are cardiovascular, renal and exercise physiology.
My research program is not active at this time.
