Course Description:

Especially designed for general dentists who want to move into rotary endodontics.   This lecture and hands-on workshop will compare two leading endodontic rotary systems (Wave One and Vortex Blue) for management of root canal therapy with predictable results.  

At the end of this course the participant will be better able to:

  1. List new diagnostic terminology in endodontics,
  2. Describe proper and ideal access to facilitate the endodontic procedure,
  3. Discuss the principles of glide paths,
  4. Compare and contrasts principles or rotary instrumentation as it pertains to wave one and Vortex Blue
  5. List and describe techniques for effective anesthesia, and
  6. Discuss gutta percha cone fit issues including carrier based obturation.

Presenter Biography:

Dr. Leibow graduated from Indiana University Dental School in 1974 and then went on to Boston University of Graduate Dentistry for his master's degree in endodontic's in 1976.

He started private practice in Phoenix, Arizona that same year and was the fifth-trained endodontist to start a practice in the state of Arizona. He began teaching, as needed, in 2003 at the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health (ASDOH) in Mesa, Arizona. When the clinic opened in 2005, he closed his practice and went to work for Roda and Sluyk Endodontics two days a week and taught in the clinic at ASDOH three days a week as co-director of endodontics, instructing students in the pre-doctoral endodontic clinic.   In 2010, when one of his predoctoral students finished his residency in endodontics, he left the practice and became a full-time instructor at ASDOH, where he continues to teach today.  He is responsible for all the preclinical didactic education, and co-directs with, Dr. Gene Jasper, and four other endodontists overseeing all the clinical endodontic treatment.   Dr. Leibow enjoys spending time with his wife, his two standard poodles, George and Gracie, his Corvette, and photography.

Cancellations and Refunds: The Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine-Arizona Continuing Dental Education (MWUCDM-AZ CDE) office reserves the right to end registration when the enrollment limit is reached and to cancel, modify or alter content, faculty or location for any course if circumstances indicate such a change is advisable. If the MWUCDM-AZ CDE finds it necessary to cancel a course, a full refund will be issued. No travel expenses will be refunded to the registrant in the event of course cancellation or cancellation of any registration. Full tuition refunds are issued if the participant cancels in writing two weeks prior to a course. Cancellations processed during the two weeks prior to course date will be refunded tuition minus a late cancellation fee of $75. No refunds will be issued for cancellations received three days prior to the day of the course or in the event of a no-show. Select courses may have individually specific cancellation fees and polices. A $50 fee will be assessed for all returned payments. Returned payments include returned checks and dishonored credit or debit card payments.
