Midwestern University Federally-Funded Student Grants Reach $8.5 Million

Midwestern University has given 100% of an estimated $8.5 million in Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds (HEERF) apportioned to the University to support the nearly 7,000 healthcare professions students enrolled at its campuses in Downers Grove, Illinois, and Glendale, Arizona.

Midwestern University Recognizes Indigenous History of Campus Lands

In recognition of the University’s existing and developing partnerships with Native communities in and around both of its campuses, Midwestern has published formal statements on the University’s website recognizing and acknowledging the history of Indigenous homelands and territories, including the land which is now home to both the Glendale Campus and Downers Grove Campus.

PT Students Earn Naming Rights for Fundraising Challenge

Demonstrating their generosity and commitment to helping others, Physical Therapy students on Midwestern University’s Downers Grove Campus earned the naming rights to the Illinois Physical Therapy Foundation’s fundraising challenge for 2021. They achieved this honor by having the most participants take part in the organization’s #Giving Tuesday fundraiser in 2020. As a result, the 2021 #Giving Tuesday challenge is now officially known as the Midwestern University Student Challenge and will take place on Tuesday, November 30, 2021.

CCOM Student Earns Golden Stethoscope Award for Research

Midwestern University’s Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine (CCOM) is proud to announce that third-year student, Rachna Karumuri, is the honored recipient of the Golden Stethoscope Award from the Indian American Medical Association of Illinois for her research. Ms. Karumuri investigated the expression of two novel molecular biomarkers in cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), the second most common form of skin cancer.

College of Health Sciences Celebrates New Graduates

Midwestern University recently held commencement ceremonies to celebrate nearly 340 graduates from the College of Health Sciences. Graduates from both the Downers Grove, Illinois, and Glendale, Arizona campuses who earned their master’s and doctoral degrees will join their healthcare professions as clinical psychologists, physician assistants, occupational therapists, and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists.
