The Speech-Language Pathology Program Faculty and Midwestern University Administration invite you to provide input about the Speech-Language Pathology Program’s compliance with the published Standards for Accreditation of Graduate Education Programs in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (Standards).

  • CCOM Student Earns Prestigious Schweitzer Fellowship

    A Midwestern University medical student has been selected for the nationally recognized Schweitzer Fellowship, a program for graduate students who aspire to become lifelong leaders in community service. Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine student Samantha Maurer (CCOM 2023) will participate in the year-long service-learning program that empowers Fellows to design and implement projects that help address the health needs of underserved Chicago communities. “I am looking forward to giving back to my community alongside other healthcare professionals who aspire to be well informed and committed to addressing healthcare inequities,” Samantha said.

This year, 209 new students at the University’s Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine (CCOM) packed food, sorted donations, cleared brush, and more as part of their orientation program.

  • Midwestern University Hosts Dental Care Event for Young Children

    Local families with young children benefitted from an event at Midwestern University’s Dental Institute held in cooperation with the Delta Dental of Illinois Foundation to provide dental care to children under the age of five. The event was part of the Delta Dental of Illinois Foundation’s Dentist By 1 program, which educates parents and caregivers about good oral health habits and the benefits of starting dental visits early.

  • Midwestern University Faculty Member Awarded Federal Biomedical Research Grant

    Midwestern University is pleased to announce that N. Jim Rhodes, Pharm.D., M.S., BCPS, Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice, is among those researchers who received federal funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Announced by U.S. Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL) and U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL), the funding is part of nearly $12.2 million in grants earmarked for research programs across Illinois that support medical advancement in various fields.

    Speech-Language Pathology students on the Downers Grove Campus of Midwestern University recently received top accolades from the National Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association (NSSLHA). The organization awarded the Downers Grove Campus NSSLHA chapter with 2022 Gold Chapter Honors, which is the top honor a chapter can receive.
