Ava DiGirolamo (CCOM 2026)

Hey everyone! My name is Ava DiGirolamo, and I just finished my first year of medical school here at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. I grew up right here in the western suburbs of Chicago, and I am incredibly excited to be back home for my medical education after attending college in the South. I got my Bachelor of Science in public health from Tulane University, where I was captain of our dance team, Shockwave. I absolutely love dancing, watching football, hanging out with my two fluffy cats, crocheting, and trying out new restaurants with my friends. My medical interests lie in women’s health. I am hoping to become an OB-GYN, as I am passionate about health equity and healthcare disparities.

I am so excited to mentor local students interested in pursuing a career in medicine, as our generation will make great changes in accessibility and access to healthcare for all. I am so impressed with our participants’ tenacity and drive, and I cannot wait to work with them in August! A note to our participants: keep pursuing your passions, working hard for what you believe in, and always remember to remain true to yourself. This will put you in the best position to be successful in your future careers as well as in life.
