Dawniel Facque (AZCOM 2025)
I am a second-year medical student here at the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University. I graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno, where I double majored in anthropology and biology with a minor in analytical chemistry before spending some time volunteering in India. My path to medical school was nontraditional; I applied for and was denied admission to medical school three times. I then realized that I needed something else to make me competitive, so I received my master's degree and was accepted to Midwestern. My advice to anyone is to let yourself be flexible with your future; it’s okay to change paths if you're doing something that you truly love to do. Applying to any medical field is competitive and challenging, so perseverance is key. Outside of school I have two cats named Jorge and Posey, and I love to read fantasy novels, refinish furniture, and play video games.
