IL: CCOM Student Elected to National Board of Trustees

Bridget McIlwee, an osteopathic medical student at Midwestern University's Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine was elected to the American Osteopathic Association's (AOA) Board of Trustees as the student representative during the AOA's Annual Meeting of the House of Delegates in Chicago. In this role, she will also serve as chair of the Council of Student Affairs.

"It is truly an honor to represent the nation's more than 20,000 osteopathic medical students as the student representative for the AOA Board of Trustees," Ms. McIlwee said. "I look forward to working closely with other leaders of the osteopathic medical profession in the coming year."

Ms. McIlwee is entering her fourth-year of medical education at Midwestern University and received her bachelor's degree in chemistry from the University of Dayton in Ohio. She completed part of her undergraduate education at l'Institut Catholique de Paris in France and Al Akhawayn University in Morocco. After earning her osteopathic medical degree, Ms. McIlwee plans to pursue a career in dermatology.
