Kratom: Science vs. Myth and Understanding the Risks
Presented by Oliver Grundmann, Ph.D., Adjunct Assistant Professor, and Charles Veltri, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Midwestern University College of Pharmacy – Glendale

Kratom, a traditional herb found in Southeast Asia with analgesic properties, has become popular recently as a supplement. But how exactly does it work and what are the possible risks? Join Dr. Grundmann and Dr. Veltri as they discuss the science behind how Kratom works in the body and its potential for adverse effects, as well as their recent research on Kratom and how the drug is regulated within the US.

The Community Health Lecture Series offers FREE monthly public lectures on health & medicine by Midwestern University faculty at the Foothills Branch Library.
